Hi Moshi March 14, 2010 Gerald Kaufman (Escondido, Ca.) My wife loves it. Finally able to set an alarm simply by giving it simple voice commands.
Now how about developing coffee pots, house lights and other electrical appliances to work with voice recognition.
It works March 3, 2010 Paul Casbarian (Schaumburg, IL USA) I got tired of trying to push those tiny buttons on digital clocks to change the time and alarm, especially after they tend to wear out. Moshi works. Tell it the time, and it is there. Tell it when you want to wake up, and there it is. It also gives you a nine minute snooze. It does have a bug or two. If more than one person is talking in the area (tv and radio included) Moshi can get mixed signals. Also very occasionally does something on its own when triggered by the television or other vocalization which comes close to a command. Overall great product and to see how it works before buying go to the Moshi manufacturer's website.
Great alarm clock February 10, 2010 Dlux (New Jersey) I have owned this alarm clock for several months now, and have recently found out that there are several model numbers, so I can only speak for mine. The MLC498 DOES allow you to choose one nightlight instead of the "disco ball" that another reviewer spoke about. The controls are on the back of the clock. The only problem is that they don't let you choose the single color, which may have changed on it's new model, the MLC498. The voice on the clock allows you to choose from Low-Medium-High, so when set on low, it does not wake the other person. As long as you speak clearly, the clock understands your commands, as long as you say them the way you are instructed. Also, another reviewer stated that you have to reset the alarm every day. That is not true on this model. Once the alarm is set, when it goes off in the morning and you say the command to turn the alarm off, as long as you don't say it again, it remains set for the same time the next day. All in all this is a GREAT alarm clock.
MOSHI February 6, 2010 PB (RICHARDSON, TX, US) We purchased Moshi for my husband's elderly Mother who has a problem setting her clock/alarm, etc. BUT after playing with Moshi we thought it could be too frustrating for her to learn. So we decided to keep the clock, and we have enjoyed memorizing all the commands and just speaking what we need done. Fun purchase!!
Nice Novalty February 6, 2010 Andrew B. Joshu (Spgfld, IL USA) While voice recognition (VR)of anyone's voice is not yet perfect, the Moshi VR talking alarm clock basically works pretty well. The environment has to be reasonably quiet, you have to speak clearly - not slowly, just clearly, and it has trouble with some exact times. For example: thirteen and fourteen, thirty and forty. I could not get it set to 6:30 so I set it to 6:29. Close enough for my lifestyle. I really enjoy the ability to set the alarm, in the dark, with my eyes closed, without getting up. One suggestion to the manufacturer...please expand the alarm sounds! The three alarm sounds are truely nasty. All in all, cool technology, cool clock. Neat glimpse into the future possibilities of VR devices. Nice styling, nice nightlight feature, calender and temperature function too(if it could only tell me the temperature outside?).
